THEATRE CAMPS AND CLASSES

Millbrook provides a safe space for artists of every age to explore the wonderful world of live theater! We strive to give performers of all ages the opportunity to learn, grow, play, and explore through our educational programs.

All of our productions and camps are directed by working professionals who bring their unique perspective and real world experience into a classroom setting to enrich our students. Each experience is designed to teach young people the fundamentals of performing, and build confidence, empathy, and awareness on and off stage.

Little Theatre Camp - One Week: Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18​

The Little’s Theatre Camp – One-Week Camp
Ages: 6 through 9
Dates: Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18

This exciting week-long camp is the ideal introduction to theater for young performers recommended for those entering 1st Grade (Ages 6/7) through those entering 3rd Grade (Age 8/9). Campers will engage in fun theater games, learning the basics of performing while developing their singing and dancing skills. This process-oriented camp focuses on exploration and discovery, with no pressure to perform a full show. Through engaging activities like improvisational games, storytelling, group songs, and dances, campers will build confidence and a love for the performing arts. The week culminates in an open classroom where families can join us to celebrate their child’s newfound skills and enjoy the fruits of their creative journey.

  • Tuition: $150.00 through June 29.  $175.00 June 30 through July 14.

NEW CAMP - Teen Acting Intensive - One Week: Monday, July 21 - Friday, July 25

Teen Acting Intensive – One-Week Camp
Ages: 13 through 18 
Dates: Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25
Time: 12 pm – 4 pm
Invited Open Class: Friday, July 25 at 5:00 pm

This powerful new camp will dive into the transformative world of acting in this week-long intensive designed for students ages 13 through graduating seniors. Younger students with experience may be considered.

Throughout the week, participants will explore various acting techniques, delving into text analysis, character development, vocal clarity, and performance styles. Using scripts from some of today’s most acclaimed playwrights, students will develop the tools to bring compelling characters to life and hone their craft as confident, dynamic actors.

The camp will conclude with an open-class showcase, where students will present scenes or monologues to share their growth and discoveries with family and friends.

Teen Performing Arts Academy - Grades 8th through Grade 12

Teen Performing Arts Academy – Two-Week Camp

Performances: Fri., Aug. 8 at 5 pm, Sat., Aug. 9 at 11:00

The Teen Performing Arts Academy (TPAA) is for 8th-12th graders (13 up to age 18) with a passion for the Performing Arts. This immersive program provides professional training, mirroring a real-world rehearsal schedule. Students will hone acting, singing, and dancing skills through masterclasses led by Millbrook’s professional artists. These classes directly inform the rehearsal process for “Newsies Jr.,” Disney’s energetic musical based on the true story of the 1899 Newsboys’ Strike. With a Tony Award-winning score and book, “Newsies Jr.” tells the inspiring tale of young people fighting for justice. The TPAA culminates in a public performance of “Newsies Jr.,” allowing students to showcase their talents and experience the thrill of live theatre.

Junior's Camp - One Week: Monday, August 11 - Friday, August 15, 2025

Junior’s Camp – One-Week Camp
Grades: 4th-7th grade
Dates: Monday, August 11 – Friday, August 15, 2025
Time: 9 am – 4 pm
Performances: Friday, August 15 at 6:00 – Saturday, August 16  at 11:00

Designed for aspiring young actors entering 4th-7th grade (ages 9-12), Junior’s Camp offers a fun and engaging introduction to the world of musical theater. Whether a beginner or more experienced, campers will develop essential skills like projection, diction, and stage presence through rehearsals for “Seussical KIDS.” This whimsical journey through the world of Dr. Seuss follows Horton the Elephant as he protects the Whos and learns valuable lessons about friendship, loyalty, and believing in yourself. Campers will build confidence, learn from experienced instructors, and culminate their experience with a public performance of “Seussical KIDS.”

  • Tuition: $250.00 through July 27. $275.00 July 28 – Aug. 11. 
  • Tuition includes two complimentary tickets per registrant. 
  • Newsies Tickets:$11.00 Adults, $8.00 Children/Students

There are minimum and maximum enrollment limits for camps.  Cancellation is possible if a minimum enrollment is not reached.
