In 1940s Indiana, a young, bespectacled Ralphie schemes his way toward the holiday gift of his dreams, an official Red Ryder Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle. An infamous leg lamp, an outrageous set of pink bunny pajamas, a maniacal department store Santa, and a triple-dog-dare to lick a freezing flagpole are just a few of the obstacles that stand between Ralphie and his Christmas wish. Estimated Run Time: 90 min with one 15 minute intermission  Recommended for ages 8 and older. Purchase Tickets! Critic’s Corner ” Both warmly nostalgic and darkly humorous, A Christmas Story deserves its status as a holiday perennial.” “With much affectionate humor, A Christmas Story recalls vividly what it was like to be a kid at Christmas in a more innocent era.” “Delightfully entertaining, with a wryly amusing narration to keep the adults in the audience smirking.” Who’s Who in the Cast Toby Tropper is thrilled to make his Millbrook Playhouse (and East Coast theatre) debut! Previous Next About the Show Celebrate the wackiness in every family with our best-selling Broadway musical adapted for school-age performers!a Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents. Critic’s Corner “”The Addams Family, headed by Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth, is a glitzy-gloomy musical in which the quick and the dead are equally full of character. The whole show is a menage a trois of the ghastly, the ghostly and the side-splitting.” John Simon Bloomberg News “This “deliciously dark and superbly funny” musical comedy embraces the wackiness in every family. The award-winning show is based on some of the characters created by The New Yorker cartoonist Charles Addams in his single-panel drawings, which depict a ghoulish American family with an affinity for all things macabre.” Who’s Who More at Millbrook Accessibility The Main Stage and Cabaret theaters have ramp and stair lift access, and accessible seating areas.  Please inquire with the Box Office for more information. Godspell

GODSPELL — July 12 – July 21
Book by John Michael Tebelak. Music and New Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.

– “From the three-time Grammy, Tony, and Academy Award winning writer Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin)!”
A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables (based on The Gospel according to St. Matthew) by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus’ messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life. A masterful retelling of the original sensation injected with contemporary references and dazzling new arrangements! Rated PG.
