About the Millbrook Playhouse Youth Ensemble and Tech Cohorts:

LOCAL YOUTH AUDITIONS: THE 63RD SEASON

Millbrook Playhouse invites local performers to audition for our upcoming summer season.
AUDITION SCHEDULE DATE: Saturday, March 21, 2026
LOCATION: TBA (Check back for address)
  • 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Youth Auditions (Annie & Orphans, ages 9–15*)
  • 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Adults & Older Teens (Youth Ensemble, ages 16+)
  • Note: Sign-up closes one hour before the end of each session. Auditions are first-come, first-served.
WHAT TO PREPARE For Youth (Ages 9–15): Annie & The Orphans
  • Song: Prepare a one-minute memorized song from Annie or a similar musical.
  • Music: Bring sheet music or a backing track on a mobile device.
  • What to Expect: You may be asked to dance or read lines from the script. We will be “double-casting” the orphans (creating two teams of children) for scheduling flexibility.
  • Age Exception: Performers ages 7–8 may audition ONLY with documented stage experience.
For Older Teens (Ages 16–18): Youth Ensemble
  • Roles: Opportunities in the ensemble for Annie and The Wedding Singer.
  • Song: Bring sheet music or a backing track.
  • What to Expect: Be prepared to learn a short dance/movement routine or read from the provided scripts.
IMPORTANT FOR PARENTS & STUDENTS
  • Daytime Commitment: All rehearsals are held during the day. Actors must be available for all rehearsals for which they are called.
  • Youth Schedule: Annie youth cast members will begin rehearsals prior to June 7th to coordinate with the professional adult cast.
  • Callbacks: Some callbacks occur the same day, but we may hold a separate callback day specifically for the Annie orphans. Please keep your calendar flexible.
  • Compensation: Please note that these are volunteer positions for youth performers (Annie/Orphans/Youth Ensemble). Participation offers high-level professional training and mentorship from industry veterans.
PRODUCTION DATES
  • Annie: June 7 – July 3 (13 performances)
  • The Wedding Singer (TWS): June 24 – July 19 (9 performances)
  • Actors in the Back-to-Back track must be available for the entire duration of both shows.
CAN’T MAKE THE IN-PERSON AUDITION?If you have a direct conflict and cannot attend on March 21st, you may submit a video audition through our website.
  • Deadline: April 1, 2026.
  • Video Requirements: A 1-minute song and a brief introduction (Name, Age, and Height).
  • How to Submit: Upload your video to YouTube or Vimeo (set to “unlisted”) and include the link in our Virtual Audition Form.

MPYE is an audition-based program that typically requires a small participation fee. Please check back for more audition information. If you’re unable to attend the audition dates, you can submit a video audition. The video should include one short song and one short speech from a play.
