About the Youth Ensemble and Tech Cohorts:
Millbrook Playhouse Youth Ensemble: Grow Your Passion, Find Your Stage Family
Calling all young theatre enthusiasts (ages 7-18) yearning to explore your potential, hone your skills, and build lasting friendships! The Millbrook Playhouse Youth Ensemble (MPYE) offers a unique opportunity to dive deep into the world of theatre, regardless of your background.
An audition-based program is designed to inspire, nurture, and support young performers who have shown a dedication to the theatre. This ensemble will have opportunities to gain practical stage experience in performance and technical theater through productions scheduled outside of our mainstage season. Performers range in age from 7 – 18. This ensemble will have an opportunity outside of summer camps to experience the professional theatrical process while growing as artists in a safe, respectful, and process-based environment.
The Millbrook Playhouse Youth Ensemble members will:

If unable to attend audition dates, you can submit a video audition. The video should include one short song and one short speech from a play.

This immersive program offers a unique opportunity for aspiring young technicians to dive deep into the world of professional theater. Work alongside experienced directors and designers as you learn and train hands-on in every aspect of technical theatre.
Your Experience:
- Uncover the secrets of lighting, sound, set design, construction, props, and stage management.
- Receive expert guidance and training from industry professionals. Gain practical experience through rehearsals, and live productions.
- Contribute your ideas and work as a team to bring each show to life, from initial brainstorming to final curtain call.
- Participate in all design elements of a professional production, from set building and prop creation to lighting cues and sound design.
